Winemaker, owner, sales, marketing...

But mostly Winemaker. I love making wine. I feel lucky every day that I found a career that I enjoy, that keeps me motivated, drives me to be better, and is my outlet. This is a career I fell into, after getting a degree in Zoology from Sonoma State. In August of 2000 I took a leap of faith and worked a harvest at a winery in St. Helena. It was the most fun I'd ever had at work. After harvest they offered me a full time position, and my career path was set. I have had so many great teachers along the way, showing me, guiding me, and helping to shape the winemaker I am today. In 2012 I took over as winemaker at Passalacqua Winery. This has been a remarkable spot to hone my skills as a winemaker. I get to make everything from Fiano and Chardonnay to Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, and Pinot Noir. Every vintage is a new opportunity to improve and excel with the amazing fruit we have access to. In 2015, after finding the Valdiguié at Watson Ranch I knew I needed to have a project that was my own. To have complete freedom to try whatever I wanted, experiment, and play, with a virtually unknown varietal in California. 2017 is my third vintage making Lumia Valdiguié, and I'm still as excited as ever. Each vintage is a new opportunity to learn, grow, and perfect.
